WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita’s downtown CityArts hub will be offering three new filmmaking classes in its upcoming term.
Instructor Bryan McManus, a recent graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, will teach Introduction to filmmaking, Experimental Filmmaking and Filmmaking for the Senses. The first section will be a traditional approach to the medium, while the latter two will, McManus hopes, revolutionize the art form by exploring film in the public context, and tie the art form into different songs, textures, smells and tastes.
“At the end of Filmmaking for the Senses,” McManus said, “We’re going to have a big screening party, where everybody screens their films together and shares their favorite foods, smells, drinks, sounds, textures and sights. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Classes will run from March 29 through April 19.
