David Fincher, director of “Fight Club,” “Se7en,” and “Zodiac,” is in advanced talks with Columbia Pictures to direct Aaron Sorkin’s screenplay about the formation of Facebook called, “The Social Network,” according to Variety.
The film’s focus will be the formation and evolution of social networking site, Facebook, from its creation in 2004 by Harvard sophomore, Mark Zuckerberg, to a social and political powerhouse with over 200 million members.
Scott Rudin and Michael De Luca and Trigger Street will produce for Columbia.
Production may begin as early as fall this year.
