It’s a firmly established fact that Hollywood is creatively bankrupt, and hasn’t had an original idea in years.  Ever looking for a new remake, reboot, or adaptation idea, it turns out that 13 more ‘Marley & Me’ movies is entirely possible.

The Labrador retriever that met an untimely demise in John Grogan’s 2005, million-selling memoir and in the Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston film adaption of the same name, will be the hero of 13 children’s books by the same author. The first entry into the series is due out this summer, HarperCollins Children’s Books announced Thursday.

So, don’t be surprised if Hollywood jumps on the chance to turn each and every one of these books into awful, awful movies.  It’s their nature.
