The Hollywood Reporter reports that Universal Pictures will help Keanu Reeves continue his losing streak of remaking old Hollywood classics.

Reeves recently starred in the sci-fi remake of “The Day the Earth Stood Still” and will soon be giving “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” the same treatment. Are you rolling your eyes yet? Yeah, me too.

Justin Haythe, writer of “Revolutionary Road,” will be on script duty and Nicolas Winding Refn, writer-director of “Pusher” is in talks with the studio to direct.

Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s novella about a doctor creates an evil twin of himself has been adapted for the screen about a dozen times already. Why do we need the least talented actor in Hollywood to tackle one of the most demanding roles in yet another remake?

“Pan’s Labyrinth” director, Guillermo Del Toro was apparently the studio’s first choice to helm the project but his creepier, more faithful version has been put on the back-burner while he’s wrapped up in New Line’s LOTR prequel, “The Hobbit.”
