The Oscar-winning songwriter and director responsible for “You Light Up My Life” has been indicted on charges of, “raping or sexually assaulting women who answered audition ads on Craigslist,” according to Popeater.  71-year-old Joseph Brooks, will be arraigned later Tuesday.

According to Manhattan District Attorney, Robert Morgenthau, nine of the 11 victims answered a Craigslist ad seeking women to audition for acting roles.  He allegedly lured them up to his apartment to take a look at the Oscar he won for Best Original Song for the 1977 ballad ‘You Light Up My Life,’ drugged them, and then raped them.

Toxicology results have so far been inconclusive.
