“School of Rock” helmer, Richard Linklater, is in final negotiations to direct “Liars (A-E)” for Scott Rudin and Miramax, according to Variety.
Emma Forrest penned the script, a romantic comedy that centers on a woman who, on the way to President Obama’s inauguration, retrieves lost items from her ex-boyfriends.
So far, Kat Dennings is the only bit of casting news. She will play the lead character’s friend.
Linklater most recently directed “Me and Orson Welles,” which screened at the Toronto International Film Festival last year.
Linklater’s other directing credits include “Dazed and Confused” (1993), “Before Sunrise” (1995), “Bad News Bears” (2005), and “Fast Food Nation” (2006).
