WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita Association for the Motion Picture Arts (WAMPA) and Tallgrass Film Festival will present a special encore screening of THE WRECKING CREW , the 2008 Tallgrass Film Festival Audience Feature Award winner as the Tallgrass Third Thursday selection for August. It will screen at 7:30 p.m., August 20 at the Warren West Theatre, 9150 W. 21st St. Tickets for the screening are $9 general admission and $7 for students and seniors and go on sale Thursday, Aug. 13, exclusively at the Warren West. The film’s director, Denny Tedesco, will introduce the film, and participate in a question and answer session.

A brilliant 1960s and 70s studio band, The Wrecking Crew was everywhere. They could be heard on Beach Boys hits, on recordings by The Mamas and The Papas, on Frank Sinatra records, and on Monkees’ singles. They were Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound. One of rock and roll’s most legendary group of musicians, The Wrecking Crew played on more number one hits than The Beatles, and you’ve likely never heard their name. Their remarkable story is told in this lively musical documentary, written, produced and directed by Denny Tedesco, son of guitar player Tommy Tedesco.

Featuring dozens of popular performers, including Cher, Brian Wilson, Jimmy Webb, Roger McGuinn, Mickey Dolenz, and many others, THE WRECKING CREW was the official selection of more than 25 film festivals and winner of countless awards.
