The Wichita Association for the Motion Picture Arts (WAMPA) and The Orpheum Film Series presents writer/director Rodrick Pocowatchit’s “The Dead Can’t Dance.”  In “Dead,” three Native American men discover they are somehow immune to a mysterious plague that is turning everyone else into zombies.

Shot over the course of four months in 2009 with an all local cast and crew in Wichita, “The Dead Can’t Dance” is the culmination of two years’ hard work and the support of a film-loving community.

In conjunction with WAMPA’s Filmmaker Academy, and with the help of the Kansas Film Commission, the Independent School and other organizations, the production forged on despite minor setbacks and bad weather, ultimately using almost 200 extras over numerous locations.

Through Pocowatchit’s DIY spirit and determination, the film was completed production in late 2009. Post-production work was completed in February 2010.
